If an eager reveler, stress for refusing to get drunk at a feast. If you're gregarious, stress for turning people away or not taking part in festivities. If you're ambitious, stress for giving a title to someone. If you're compassionate, stress for torturing or executing. But if you need to revoke someone's title because their de jure territory is out of control, congrats: revoking someone's title, let alone doing literally anything tyrannical, costs you up to 40 stress. It's based on personality yeah, but oftentimes you can think your personality is great, when in reality it just opens up doors for other stress-related things that you didn't know were stressful until getting that trait. I remember at one point I had a character who only got 7 stress from picking a personality trait for a ward if choosing something other than what my ward naturally inclined towards. In the late game, you'll have researched everything you need to upgrade the leisure palaces to tier 3, which makes most stress-related events much lower. In other words, stress is always a problem no matter what type of personality you have, so setting up a duchy building that gets rid of that problem really helps at least in my opinion.Īnd by "late game" I'm referring to the last 150-200 or so years in game (until 1453), when most or all culture research is complete.
